Leica fans, it’s time to get excited! The latest firmware update for the Leica Q3, version 4.1.0, has dropped, bringing some seriously handy upgrades to your camera. Whether you’re someone who’s constantly exploring new features or you’re just looking for a smoother shooting experience, this update is packed with tweaks that make a difference.
Upgrades:
- The warning message displayed upon power-up of the camera, in which a BP-SCL4 rechargeable battery is used, was removed.
- Pictures taken in portrait format will now be displayed in full-screen view.
- A menu option was added, in which focus peaking will be displayed only when focusing is done manually via the MF focus ring.
- The currently selected AF mode will now be displayed in the form of an additional icon in the upper status bar.
- In AF mode, Tracking will display the frame in the colour of the respective detection status. Tracking will remain inactive when no person or animal is detected; green markers signify focus.
Improvements:
- An issue occurring in user profiles was remedied: The camera would sometimes freeze when switching from a profile with Leica FOTOS = Off to a profile with Leica FOTOS On. This behaviour was corrected.
- The colour matrixes stored in DNG files were updated. As a result, colour rendering in third-party software using these matrixes for colour presets is now improved.
