Hey Canon users, big news! The Canon mirrorless system just got even better thanks to an announcement from Sigma and Tamron. Until now, the Canon RF mount only worked with Canon-made lenses, but that's all changed. Both parties just announced lenses for Canon's mirrorless RF mount cameras.
Sigma's new line of six 'Contemporary' lenses were created just for Canon RF mirrorless cropped sensor cameras such as the EOS R100, R50, R10 and R7. These versatile lenses have an autofocus control algorithm and communication speed optimization which will make them fully compatible with the Canon RF mount.
We are looking forward to these new Canon RF offerings from Sigma:
18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN
10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN
16mm f/1.4 DC DN
23mm f/1.4 DC DN
30mm f/1.4 DC DN
56mm f/1.4 DC DN.
Tamron also has you covered with its announcement of the Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD (Model B060) lens, which was made specifically for the Canon RF mount. "After receiving many requests from customers to offer lenses compatible with the CANON RF mount, TAMRON made the decision to develop a lens for the CANON RF mount under a license agreement."
Tamron 11-20mm F/2.8 Di III-A RXD Features:
- Fast-aperture ultra wide-angle zoom lens
- Compact and light weight
- Outstanding optical performance
- MOD of 0.15m (5.9”) and maximum magnification ratio of 1:4

This announcement from Sigma and Tamron is huge news all around! Now photographers have even more options to choose from with the Canon RF mount. So far this announcement just includes lenses designed for Canon's cropped sensor cameras. But, it is a step in a very welcome direction.
