Crafted in the style of classic film cameras, it features manual operation with a selectable zone-focus system, manual film winding, a manual film advance lever, and exposure compensation and ISO dials. With a retro-inspired design and a newly developed 25mm F3.5 lens (equivalent to a 37mm lens in the 35mm format), an Albada-type bright frame finder, seven shooting modes, and even more incredible features, the Pentax 17 brings the joy of film photography to both enthusiasts and newcomers!
When you buy the Pentax 17, you will receive six free rolls of film in a bundled package! These films include:
Flic Film Chrome 100: This is a daylight-balanced colour transparency film is known for its extremely fine grain structure, vibrant colour rendering, and overall low contrast profile. The lower contrast values contribute to a wide dynamic range and a neutral tonal scale for greater colour accuracy. A low D-min helps ensure brighter, whiter whites. It has a medium-speed nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° when developed in the E-6 process. The smooth grain profile pairs with a micro-structure optimized T-GRAIN emulsion, making it especially well-suited for scanning applications.
Flic Film Ultrapan 18: This is a 400 ISO, black and white 35mm film designed specifically for half-frame cameras. This 18-shot roll of film provides 36 shots in a half-frame camera, just like a standard roll of 35mm film.
FUJIFILM CH 400 135-36: This is a film perfect for capturing everything from the brightest days to the darkest nights. There’s nothing quite like the feel and colour reproduction that comes from using FUJIFILM 400 35mm film for colour prints. It’s the preferred choice among film shooters who want consistent, high-quality results. FUJIFILM 400 35mm film for colour prints is ideal for photographing action and works great both on bright days and in low light conditions when using a flash.
Harman Phoenix 200: This is an experimental ISO 200, C41 process, colour negative film with high contrast and visible grain. It can be used for any photographic subject, with results dependent on ambient lighting conditions, colour palette, and exposure accuracy. The best results are typically obtained outdoors with consistent light and medium brightness scenes, while metering for the mid-tones.
ILFORD HP5 PLUS: This is a high-speed, fine-grain, medium-contrast black and white film, making it an excellent choice for journalism, documentary, travel, sports, action, and indoor available light photography.
Kodak's ColorPlus 200: This is a versatile medium-speed, daylight-balanced colour negative film characterized by its fine grain structure, high sharpness, and rich colour saturation. It has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 200/24° along with a wide exposure latitude, allowing for exposure up to two stops under or three stops over, making it suitable for a wide range of lighting conditions.
