This new update introduces Shutter Angle and various other improvements, enhancing the already outstanding camera for filmmakers. Let’s delve into the details and prepare for the update!
Firmware version 5.10 for the Nikon Z9 introduces features tailored to professional video recording needs. A new [Shutter mode] has been included, enabling users to set the shutter angle to one of 15 steps between 5.6° and 360°. This feature removes the need to adjust the shutter speed each time the frame rate changes, ensuring users always achieve ideal motion blur for their selected frame rate. Moreover, users now have the ability to change the zebra pattern display colour, as well as customize the transparency, position, and size of brightness information displays like the histogram and waveform monitor. These functionalities have been added to simplify video recording, allowing users to verify proper exposure even when capturing scenes with high contrast.
