Want to use your Lumix camera for live streaming on your Mac? Well, Lumix Tether for Streaming (Beta) is now available for Mac as well as Windows! Back in June, Panasonic released the firmware update for Windows only, but now, Mac users can reap the benefits too. This streaming software allows for enhanced online video use of your Lumix camera! All you have to do is download, plug in your camera and go!
The Lumix Tether for Streaming (Beta) has been designed based on the conventional Lumix Tether. However, it has an additional display option for the cases where this software is used for live streaming purposes. It also has been upgraded with Live View mode, to remove the graphic items such as the focus area mark as well as control panels. It enables displaying camera view only, making it easy for the separate streaming software to read it. Users can choose to show or hide these graphic items during USB tethering according to the usage purpose.
While the Lumix Tether for Streaming (Beta) is basically software for tethered shooting that can also be used to capture camera views for live streaming, the upcoming Lumix Webcam Software makes it possible to use your Lumix camera as a webcam over a USB connection not only for live streaming but also for video conferencing, and other online video needs! This will be available in September for Windows, and October for Mac.
Not all Lumix cameras are compatible with the new Lumix Tether for Streaming (Beta). Here is a list of compatible models: DC-S1H, DC-S1R, DC-S1, DC-GH5S, DC-GH5, DC-G9
