Exposure Photography Festival has created a brand new, online program called Exposure Studio, to help photographers from all kinds of photographic backgrounds develop their practice! This program, specifically for Calgary-based photographers, is designed to encourage community, connection and collaboration during a time of social distancing through 10 discussion-based online events. The application deadline is Wednesday, June 24th, at 8:00 PM MDT, so right now is the time to apply!
Whether you’re just starting your photography education, have already graduated, are self-taught, are emerging in your career or are already established, Exposure is encouraging anyone from Calgary to apply!
Exposure Studio will host numerous speakers from around the world from different facets of photography. From photographers to publishers, curators and more, all of them will present invaluable knowledge and advice to help you develop your career.
Topics that could be covered include: how to gain exhibition opportunities, how to edit a portfolio, how to create a website, how to sequence images for publication, how to print your own photo book, how to approach magazine and newspapers for assignment work, or how to use social media to gain a following, along with open input from the selected participants.
Additionally, participating local photographic artists will also have the opportunity to become part of an arts collective that Exposure will continue to support.
