EOS RP – The Perfect Entry to Full-Frame Mirrorless

With a 26-megapixel full-frame sensor, the EOS RP gives you full-frame quality in a more simple, compact package. Overall, it’s fairly stripped-down with minimal control dials compared to the higher-end EOS models, the RP still has an excellent hand feel with intuitive ergonomics.

  • Entry-level autofocus performance and frame rate (5 frames per second)
  • Acceptable for kids, pets, and everyday life. Not ideal for fast-action sports or action.
  • One memory card slot
  • 4K Video (with a crop)
  • Fully articulating screen, headphone and microphone jack, and hot shoe.

Overall, the EOS RP is an excellent, compact, mirrorless camera with an affordable price point. It’s a terrific option for beginners looking for the right balance between easy-to-use while still getting that same full-frame Canon user experience.

EOS R – The Dependable Classic

The camera that started Canon’s full-frame mirrorless lineup, the EOS R, is the perfect transition from Canon DSLRs to Canon Mirrorless. It features a 30-megapixel sensor, very similar to that of the 5D Mark IV. With sharper edge-to-edge shots thanks to the improved flange distance between the sensor and the rear element, along with improved lenses, the EOS R creates beautiful, high-quality images.

  • Weather sealed to the same level as the dependable EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR
  • Articulating screen, higher quality electronic viewfinder
  • Single card slot
  • Entry-level autofocus performance and frame rate (6 frames per second)
  • 4K Video (with a crop)

In total, the EOS R has excellent ergonomics, a solid grip, and controls where you want them. The quality lives up to Canon’s high standard and the EOS R is a perfect option for those wanting a dependable camera at a reasonable price point.
