Join local artist and photographer Brady Fullerton and master printer Costas Costoulas of Resolve Photographic Services, as they provide an introduction to the art of inkjet printing your photographs. In the digital age, most photographers rarely get to see their images in print. Yet throughout the history of photography the print has often been considered the final expression of the photographer's vision. In this workshop you’ll gain hands-on experience in understanding how to translate the image you see on a screen to a final print you can hold in your hands. You’ll learn how inkjet technology works including delving into different inks and papers. You’ll learn to work with your digital files to prepare them for print, including gaining an understanding of resolution, scaling, cropping, and sharpening. And you’ll learn to work with test prints and gain an understanding of how to interpret the results. By the end of this workshop you will be far better equipped to print your own images at home or to work with a professional printer to get the most out of your images.
Feel free to bring a laptop and/or a USB drive with your digital files. There will be opportunities to edit your work and even print it, time permitting.
Sponsored by Canon Canada.
