The images collected in Alaska 24/7 are part of America 24/7, an epic project that harnessed the talents of more than 25 000 professional, amateur, and student photographs. The project challenged these photographers to “go out and shoot digital pictures that tell us about your life, your community, your state, your country.” More than a million digital pictures were taken for America 24/7, and the best- submitted via the internet-were painstakingly selected by 36 of the nation’s leading photo editors.
