The Tamron 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD is the world's first all-in-one zoom lens with a zoom ratio of 16.6x and 18-300mm focal length range (27-450mm full-frame equivalent). Reaching an outstanding 300mm at the telephoto end, the lens is exceptionally well-balanced with aspherical and special lens elements to achieve high image quality over the entire range. At the 18mm wide end, the lens attains an MOD of 0.15m (5.9 in) and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2. With an impressive working distance of 5mm (0.2 in), you can get as close as you want to your subject while capturing the background.

Covering a wide range of focal lengths, the lens's 18-300mm range provides the full-frame equivalent of 27-450mm. This makes the lens super versatile to capture ultra-telephoto photography that takes full advantage of lens compression, as well as wide-angle photography that captures vast landscapes, and everything in between. The lens also boasts best-in-class autofocus thanks to Tamron's VXD3 linear motor focus mechanism, which provides top-performing speed, precision and responsiveness. Even at the telephoto end of 300mm, it glides into focus comfortably from the minimum distance to infinity. The linear motor suppresses drive noise, making the lens ideal for shooting both still photos and video in environments that demand silence. To minimize the effect of camera shake, which is likely to occur in the telephoto range, the lens incorporates Tamron's proprietary VC4 mechanism. Furthermore, it uses AI technologies to choose the compensation characteristic for videography at focal lengths of 70mm or less.
