Portraits of Resilience is an intimate look into the stories behind Wayne Simpson’s images from his first book of portraiture, Resilient: The Portraiture of Wayne Simpson. Like a book cover, portraits give us a visual synopsis of the life of a person. It’s what catches our eye to dive deeper into a bigger, more elaborate story. But unlike books, we don’t usually get the chance to hear the full story, until now. This virtual event will give the audience an exclusive look into the narratives behind the many remarkable individuals captured by Wayne Simpson while having the opportunity to comment and ask questions. The audience will inevitably see pieces of themselves while experiencing the visual stories of inspiration, tragedy, humanitarianism and resilience.
Portraits of Resilience is a free, virtual event on December 2, 2021, at 7:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. During this presentation, the audience will encounter a collection of portraits accompanied by the individual stories behind them.
This event stems from Resilient: The Portraiture of Wayne Simpson, a stunning coffee table book featuring some of the most beautiful and thoughtful portraits of resilient individuals that you may ever see. With remarkable images and enthralling writing, Resilient: The Portraiture of Wayne Simpson is wonderfully crafted. Every portrait has been thoughtfully created to enhance each personal story with unique depth and exquisite quality. Accompanying these portraits is a sensitively written biographical sketch to create a beautifully balanced book unlike anything on the market.
