Does it get much better than having an all-in-one zoom lens? How about a 10.7x all-in-one zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras? Tamron has announced the upcoming launch of the 28-300mm F4-7.1 Di III VC VXD, an expansive lens with superior imaging performance. Boasting features to expand the scope of expression for still images and video, this new lens is ready to help users create an extremely wide range of situations with just one lens!
The Tamron 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC Di III VC VXD is revolutionizing all-in-one zoom lenses. Covering a broad focal length range from 28mm wide-angle to 300mm telephoto with a zoom ratio of 10.7x, Tamron has beautifully blended functionality with exceptional imaging performance. All that said, this lens is also exceptionally portable, featuring a highly compact design with a length of just 12.6 cm (5 in) and a weight of only 610g (21.5 oz). Being an all-in-one lens, it is extremely versatile, allowing users to shoot all kinds of situations from casual everyday life to adventurous travel, all without changing lenses. The lens makes it easy to frame accurately when shooting still and moving images while zooming in and out, so users can comfortably and confidently shoot landscapes, snapshots, portraits, wildlife and sports photography.
When it comes to the construction of the 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC, it boasts best-in-class image quality as an all-in-one zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. Featuring 20 elements in 13 groups, one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) lens element and an LD (Low Dispersion) lens element, the lens efficiently controls aberrations including chromatic aberration. The BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) Coating suppresses ghosting and flare, producing clear images even in backlit conditions.
The lens is equipped with Tamron's premium linear motor focus mechanism in the VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) autofocus drive, which provides quick and accurate focus throughout the 10.7x zoom range. Defying the stereotype that all-in-one zoom lenses have slow autofocus, the 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC's astonishing speed grants users the opportunity to capture more fleeting moments. Furthermore, it is equipped with Tamron's proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism which effectively suppresses camera shake, especially at the 300mm telephoto end of its broad 10.7x range, or under low-light conditions. The MOD (Minimum Object Distance) is 0.19m (7.5 in) and the maximum magnification ratio is 1:2.8 at the wide end, allowing users to enjoy the world of wide macro photography as well.
Other features of the Tamron 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC Di III VC VXD include a Focus Set Button for assigning camera function, a connector port for the dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility™ software, a Zoom Lock mechanism, a 67mm filter size, and a Moisture-Resistant Construction with a protective Fluorine Coating on the front element.
