We love a firmware update and Tamron has just announced a new firmware update for the Tamron 150-500mm f5-6.7 Di III VC VXD for Sony E-mount. This new firmware update includes improved AF performance during zooming, support continuous shooting at up to approximately 120 frames per second when paired with the Sony A9 III and its focus mode is set to AF-S, DMF, or MF, as well as improvements to AF assist function.

- Improved AF performance during zooming when shooting videos and still images in AF-C mode.
- With the Sony A9 III, when its focus mode is set to AF-S, DMF, or MF, it will support continuous shooting at up to approximately 120 frames per second.
- Improved AF assist function.
