CKUA Radio - Leah Hennel & Mike Drew on Then & Now 30 Years of Calgary Photography Exhibition

Leah Hennel and Mike Drew joined CKUA Radio for a fun interview, exploring how they started in the photography business and their involvement in The Camera Store's upcoming Then & Now 30 Years of Calgary Photography Exhibition. Part of the Exposure 2026 Photography Festival and celebrating The Camera Store's 30th anniversary, Then & Now spotlights the vibrant Calgary photography scene over the last three decades, connecting past and present voices in visual storytelling, from photographers who have helped shape and support it.

CKUA Interviewer, Lisa:
"How does it feel to be recognized in this exhibition with other veteran photographers?"

Mike Drew:
"Yeah, it's a real compliment to all my years of hanging out at The Camera Store and being reliant on them for equipment, chemistry and everything else back in the day and still do."

Leah Hennel:
"The Camera Store is such a community. Peter, Julian, and Evelyn - the community they've built from that store. They've built such a great place for us to come, and the support they give us is amazing."
