Description

Sigma 35mm f1.4The Sigma Art 35mm f1.4 DG HSM, a state of the art lens for both full frame and APS-C cameras, is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including a Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM), floating internal focusing system, SLD and FLD Glass elements. The Hyper Sonic Motor ensures quiet, high speed, accurate autofocusing while the floating focusing system provides superior optical performance with subjects at a close shooting distance. Axial and chromatic aberration are corrected by the included SLD and FLD glass elements.

This lens is ideal in low-light situations thanks to its large f/1.4 aperture which also creates a very shallow depth-of-field, helping you take your artistic expression to the next level. The Sigma 35mm f1.4 DG HSM Art is also compatible with the Sigma USB dock and Optimization Pro software to adjust and fine tune focusing parameters.

SIGMA DG Lenses are High-performance SLR lenses with full-frame sensor coverage Designed to deliver the ultimate in performance on full-frame digital SLRs, Sigma DG lenses also bring out the best in 35mm SLR film cameras and APS-C size DSLRs. Remarkable image rendition is achieved by comprehensive correction of aberrations and distortions. Special care is taken to thoroughly minimize colour fringing caused by lateral chromatic aberration, which is particularly noticeable at high resolution in digital photography. DG lenses can offer both high contrast and subtle tonal gradations, unmarred by flare and ghosting, thanks to Sigma's digitally optimized optical design and original Super Multi-Layer Coating technology, which suppress reflections between image sensor and lens surfaces. Large image circles assure ample peripheral bright- ness to prevent vignetting.

The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures a silent, high-speed AF function. By optimizing the AF algorithm, smoother AF is achieved. Also, this lens offers full-time MF by rotating the focus ring of the lens while auto focusing. Without changing the AF/MF Focus Mode Switch, it allows faster focus adjustment.

What makes a Sigma Art lens an “Art” lens?
Sigma’s Art line lenses are designed to meet the expectations of users who value a creative, dramatic outcome above compactness and multi-function. Along with landscapes, portraits, still-life, close-up and casual snaps, they're perfect for the kind of photography that unleashes the inner artist. Ideal for studio photography, they offer just as much expressive scope when capturing architecture, starry skies, underwater shots and many other scenes.

The Technical Details:
One FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) and four SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements ensure exceptional correction of axial chromatic aberration and lateral chromatic aberration and overall superior optical performance. 13 elements in 11 groups with minimum focusing distance 11.8” (30 cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5.2, plus 9 blade rounded diaphragm creates an attractive blur to the out of focus images.
