Today’s mirrorless and DSLR cameras are technological marvels that give us the ability to capture better wildlife images than ever before. But the cameras still don’t do it by all by themselves! In this presentation, we’ll freely move between the technical and creative concerns of wildlife image capture while presenting you with six easy-to-remember steps that will help you elevate your own wildlife captures to another level!
It all begins with knowing exactly how your equipment performs in real-world field conditions…and knowing it before you’re faced with that breaching whale! More importantly, it’s important to know which of the nearly endless camera specifications are the ones that matter the most when photographing wildlife.
Each of the remaining five steps to capturing great wildlife images has both a technical and a creative aspect to it. To follow the classic compositional principles - such as using the tried and true “rule of thirds” - it’s essential to know how to effectively focus on an off-center dynamic subject. Similarly, there are technical “tricks” in knowing which lens to choose, and which settings to use when you’re capturing that breath-taking animalscape. And, effectively using out-of-focus zones, capturing and conveying strong visual contrast, and catching that decisive moment ALL require specific technical knowledge.
This enlightening presentation will help you use the features on the latest mirrorless and DSLR cameras to capture better wildlife images than you thought possible. Don’t miss it!
