Wildlife photographer and nature enthusiast, Peter Mather will take us on a virtual journey to the Yukon, where the 'Ice Bears' live.
Ice Bears are an interesting phenomenon where Grizzly Bears put off hibernation so they can fish the salmon run. As the weather plunges deep below -20 Celcius, the creek water freezes to the bear's fur, creating hundreds of icicles that dangle from their coats. When they walk and shake, they sound like a chandelier swaying in the wind. A beautiful photographic experience, unlike anything you've ever seen.
Peter will share his experience and story about living among the Ice Bears and how the rapidly decreasing salmon may make this one of the last chances to capture these beautiful creatures.
